Job Title: Bioinformatics Scientist
Job Description: Perform collaborative research with cross-functional groups to help develop immuno-oncology therapies by providing bioinformatics support. Maintain databases and systems that store biological information, including clinical data. Develop "scrubbed" data models that can be pulled into Amazon Web Services (AWS) and other on-prem infrastructure solutions for further study and review. Engineer cutting edge algorithms, as well as rigorous machine learning and statistical frameworks to support drug development. Perform analytics on diverse multimodal data, including biological and clinical data, to generate biological insights in support of drug discovery and development. Serve as an expert in bioinformatics engineering and analytics in diverse study teams.
Education: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Bioinformatics or related field
Special Requirements: Must have advanced level coursework or project background in the following:
- Using RESTful cloud storage protocols including Simple Storage Service (S3).
- Creating scrubbed data models to pull into AWS for study and review.
- Developing machine-learning and deep-learning models using sklearn, PyTorch, and keras to interrogate biological questions.
- Designing and building applications using Shiny and Python to enable data exploration and analysis by internal stakeholders.
- Generating and deploying bioinformatics pipelines to standardize processing and analysis of high-dimensional next-generation sequencing (NGS) data.
- Optimizing pipelines and machine learning models in high-performance computing with GPU accelerators.
