Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Wastewater Operator to join our manufacturing plant team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining wastewater treatment systems, ensuring compliance with all environmental regulations and safety standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a certified operator with a strong background in wastewater treatment processes and physical/chemical testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor wastewater treatment equipment, including pumps, tanks, filters, and chemical dosing systems.
- Conduct routine testing of wastewater samples, including physical, chemical, and biological parameters.
- Maintain proper chemical levels to ensure the effectiveness of the treatment process.
- Perform daily inspections of equipment and systems, reporting any issues or malfunctions to management.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of system operations, test results, and maintenance activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, performing basic repairs as necessary.
- Assist with routine maintenance and cleaning of wastewater treatment equipment and plant facilities.
- Work closely with other team members to ensure the efficient operation of the plant.
Qualifications:
- Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Level A or B Physical/Chemical Wastewater Certification.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience operating wastewater treatment systems in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of physical, chemical, and biological water treatment processes.
- Ability to interpret wastewater regulations and apply them to operational procedures.
- Experience with laboratory testing and the use of testing equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform basic repairs.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment.
Preferred:
- Experience with SCADA or automated control systems.
- OSHA 10/30 certification or other relevant safety certifications.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial plant environment.
