Plant Manager
We are looking for a tenured and experienced Plant Manager to drive continuous improvement and optimization of all processes. The right candidate must be motivated to lead and develop a production team and can lead through ongoing change while strategically focusing on the operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
As the leader of the production team, the individual holding this position is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations, leadership, and management of a manufacturing plant. This individual will foster a collaborative work environment as they partner with leadership, Assistant Manager, Purchasing, Scheduling, Shipping , and Processing.
Responsibilities for Plant Manager
The Plant Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant, including production, maintenance, and receiving. Their responsibilities include:
- Safety: Ensuring a safe working environment for employees
- Quality: Ensuring production output meets quality standards and customer expectations
- Production:
- Planning and managing production schedules to meet quality, cost, and quantity specifications.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and manage inventory levels to ensure on-time delivery.
- Lead the daily cross functional production meeting.
- Operations: Coordination across Production, Receiving, Shipping, and Purchasing teams to meet plant output metrics.
- Cost: Developing strategies to reduce costs while meeting production goals
- Hiring and training: Maintain staffing and skill levels of production employees.
- Performance: Reviewing production records to ensure employees meet performance expectations
- Budgeting: Preparing and managing monthly and annual budgets
- Capital improvement: Overseeing the physical upkeep and capital improvement of the plant
- Policy: Developing and implementing policies and procedures related to operation, maintenance, workplace safety, and work practices
Qualifications for Plant Manager
- Proven experience working in plant operations required
- Well-rounded operations management experience including a deep understanding and experience with operations tactics, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement, strategies and best practices and process discipline.
- Knowledge of production processes, raw materials, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Proficient in and proven experience utilizing ERP systems
- Strong aptitude for root cause analysis and troubleshooting operational issues
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and computer technology
- Familiar with operating plant equipment safely and efficiently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (bilingual)
- Strong leadership and managerial attributes.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
- Able to sit, stand and walk around for long periods at a time.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $85,000.00 per year
