Overview
As a Land Surveyor, you will be responsible for conducting land surveys in diverse environments within the DFW Metroplex and occasionally in Oklahoma. You will utilize state-of-the-art equipment, robotic surveying equipment, and a cell phone equipped with specialized apps for data collection and communication with the office.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct land surveys in accordance with project requirements, industry standards, and legal regulations.
- Utilize robotic surveying equipment to accurately measure and record property boundaries, topographical features, and other relevant data.
- Operate your own vehicle to travel to various survey sites within the DFW Metroplex and occasionally to adjoining state locations. Company vehicle and fuel card will so be provided to cover business related travel.
- Ensure the proper maintenance and calibration of surveying equipment to uphold accuracy and efficiency.
- Utilize specialized apps on a company-provided cell phone for data collection, communication with the office, and GPS functionality to support surveying activities.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the timely and accurate completion of surveying tasks.
- Adhere to safety protocols and practices to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
Requirements:
- High school graduate/GED required.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
- Proficiency in operating robotic surveying equipment and GPS technology preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret surveying data accurately.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
- Ability to work independently.
- Residential construction experience is highly preferred.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to travel occasionally to project sites in Oklahoma.
- Commitment to upholding ethical standards and legal regulations governing land surveying practices.
- Flexibility and ability to work overtime if necessary; hours vary per week and are dependent on client needs
