Job Requirements:
- Perform administrative duties to ensure effective management of assigned departments, including employee selection and development, salary administration, budgeting, and cost control.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment with zero accidents as the goal.
- Implement training initiatives such as Bsafe, HACCP, and Food Safety.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships between employees, supervisors, and other departments, promoting good labor relations.
- Foster a team concept within the department, working towards achieving plant goals.
- Participate in partnership meetings with customers.
- Attend quality meetings and conduct customer site visits as needed.
- Perform customer audits according to established procedures.
- Oversee A.I.E. Mechanics and Job Change Crews.
- Manage departmental projects, including time, labor, and spending budgets.
- Adhere to established procedures for Requests for Expenditures (RFE) and plant-specific Purchase Requisitions.
- Comply with Environmental and Food Safety standards set forth in plant policies/programs within Department responsibilities.
Job Requirements:
- Ideal candidate possesses a minimum Associate's Degree in a technical or business-related field.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum five years of progressive production management experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably the glass industry, with an emphasis on Cold End operations.
- Must handle multiple tasks in a team-based environment.
- Ability to manage and supervise salaried personnel and direct reports.
- Some long and short-distance travel required.
- Experience with quality certification processes such as ISO is preferred.
- General knowledge of automated inspection and packaging equipment and experience in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S are preferred.
- Must have familiarity with labor and budget planning and execution, importance of key accounts.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills, good team dynamics, and strong planning and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated, basic computer skills, and knowledge of Microsoft Applications.
- Possess an undergraduate degree in math, engineering, or related discipline with a minimum of three to five years of experience.
