Role Description
The Machine Repair Manager is responsible for directing the maintenance of glass Individual Section (IS) machines, feeder mechanisms, shear, as well as related equipment.
Responsibilities
- Select and develop employees to adequately staff the machine repair department which includes salary administration, effective employee and union relations, developmental and training opportunities, and succession planning
- Plan and estimate costs on machine repairs for glass forming machines, as well as machine rebuild with assistance from the corporate machine group for glass container lines
- Collaborate with production managers and tank managers regarding preventative maintenance for IS Machines through Fiix CMMS
- Order replacement parts and assist in proper inventory of parts
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, with other departments, the union, and corporate
- Comply with environmental and food safety standards as outlined in plant policies within the department
