The objective of this role is to assist with Continuity programs/exercises and the Domestic Resilience Group.
Background:
The Office of Continuity, Policy and Operations (CPOP), a component of the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Security, Insider Risk and Continuity (OSIRC) serves to mitigate the risk to personnel, facilities, property, information, and assets through increased initiatives in various security fields via issuance of Department-wide security policies and the application of a multi-disciplined security programs extending from the Headquarters to our operating units. CPOP plans and implements policies through developing procedures and delivering a wide range of services for the Office of the Secretary and other nationwide Departmental bureaus. Specifically, CPOP assessing threats and determining risks to Departmental assets; ensuring proper communications; providing guidance to Departmental offices and operating units on continuity and policy related matters; and, ensuring compliance with continuity policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Although other general and within scope support duties may be assigned, some of the required tasks are as follows:
- Review and assess Continuity of Operations Plans and Emergency Plans and procedures.
- Develop the content for an online Continuity of Operations Awareness Training program for Department employees.
- Work with staff to develop a more comprehensive Continuity and Emergency Management Test Training and Exercise (TT&E) program.
- Assist in preparing requested materials for the Department’s Continuity of Government mission.
- Assist in the staffing and tracking of Interagency and National Security Council taskings.
- Attend interagency Continuity and Emergency Management working groups as may be required.
- Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of Continuity and Emergency Management Programs, make recommendations for improvement, and implement approved initiatives.
Approximately 4 years of related experience, 1 of which must be in a supervisory role.

- Including compartments SI/TK/HCS/G
- Have an in-scope Background Investigation
B.S. in an associated discipline (or equivalent).
