Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center is an 820,000-square-foot facility that offers the latest medical programs, cutting-edge technology, and patient-focused care that includes 365 beds, 1,200 employees, and a 27-bed Emergency Room / Fast Track Unit.
Responsibilities
The Unit Secretary will be responsible for ensuring the Medical / Surgical nursing unit runs efficiently.
Responsible for providing secretarial support for all employees within an assigned nursing unit
Demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors, other hospital departments, and unit staff
Coordinate with Care Management concerning admissions, transfers, and discharges and notify hospitalist if needed
Maintain and update patients' records for a given unit
Perform a variety of general clerical and non-clinical patient duties, facilitate communication
Expedite interdepartmental services and comply with and keep records required on the nursing unit
Assist the nursing staff in coordinating the activity of the unit
Assist with patient care / quality assurance audits
Performa any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Job Requirement :
High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalency
Strong office skills as well as interpersonal skills.
Preferred Job Requirement :
1 year working as a Unit Secretary in an acute care hospital.
