Project Title : Characterization of alternative grains as ingredients
Project Overview :
Ardent Mills recently expanded the footprint of its Ardent Mills Innovation Center (AMIC) network with a location in Pullman, Washington. The state-of-the-art facility serves as an R&D analytical lab and experimental mill focused on alternative grains. We work to uncover compelling genetic solutions for pulses and alternative grains, particularly chickpeas. Through plant breeding, the Ardent Mills R&D team aims to develop new varieties of specific crops to achieve nutritional and functional characteristics that provide value to Ardent Mills customers by expanding the companys solution-focused offerings. To support our alternative grains center of excellence, Emerging Nutrition, our team at AMIC Pullman is comprehensively characterizing priority Emerging Nutrition crops in 2025. The proposed intern project will aim to characterize the functionality of these priority crops at AMIC Pullman.
Project Objectives : Obtain requested functionality data from priority crop samples.
