We are hiring a Certified Medical Assistant for our Client's facilities in the greater Warwick, RI area. This Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting physicians with patient care in some very busy allergy and asthma centers. Duties may include controlling allergy shots patient flow, obtaining and documenting necessary history and vital signs, performing assigned procedures, and providing patient education.
Monday – Thursday hours : 8 : 30 am – 5 : 30 pm (hours will vary, must be flexible)
Can be Full time
22.50 / hour
Temporary – Permanent Positions
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities Of The CMA :
Calibrate PFT sensor daily
Take vital signs
Reconcile pts. Medications and confirm other information is correct in the EMR
Escort patients to a treatment room and prepare them for the doctor's visit
Pulmonary function testing
Patient education regarding medications and environmental control
Prepare and administer nebulized medication and patient education (if needed)
Scan testing sheets
Keep clinical area and exam rooms clean, organized and stocked with supplies
Keep samples and stocked with good expiration dates
Strong assessment and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in other locations and with other members of the healthcare team
Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation is required
Responsible for following OSHA regulations.
Maintains patient, employee and clinic confidentiality.
Knowledge / skills / abilities Of The CMA :
MUST BE POSITIVE, FLEXIBLE, AND WILLING TO HELP WHERE EVER NEEDED
Min 2-3 years of Medical Assistant experience required
Demonstrated experience / Knowledge utilizing eCW or some other electronic medical records system.
Working knowledge of medical information systems, medical claims payment process, medical terminology, and coding.
Medical Assistant Certification strongly preferred.
Prior experience in a medical clinic or office.
CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
Clinical experience in allergy preferred, but not required.
