Position : Commercial Millwork Project Estimator
Reports to : Project Manager
Job Summary :
The Estimator is a key position in the Company responsible for providing accurate estimates of the costs of performing prospective projects. Accurate estimates are critical to evaluating the potential profitability of projects and allowing the company to maintain the work backlog at the desired level.
Ardenture Inc is a well-established leader in the architectural millwork industry, is seeking an Estimator with the potential for immediate advancement to Estimating Manager to join their team in Naperville, IL. As an Estimator, you will review project opportunities, analyze bid invitations, and deliver accurate proposals for high-quality custom architectural millwork projects. This role requires expertise in blueprint interpretation and the ability to estimate complex scopes of work, including subcontracted components. You will collaborate with engineering, production, and project management teams to ensure timely and competitive bid submissions. To be successful, you must have experience in millwork estimation and demonstrate the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively. Duties and Responsibilities :
- Reading and deciphering architectural drawings and specifications.
- Material takeoffs & scope discovery for commercial millwork projects.
- Communicate with general contractors on projects to qualify scope and make sure proposal includes all necessary products needed.
- Update quotes as revisions are submitted.
- Acquire 3rd party factory quotes for all required material.
- Accurately price material costs and generate customer quotes.
- Provide written estimates to potential customers.
- Conduct diligent follow ups on all estimates, and track results closely for marketing analysis.
- Provide detailed hand-off files to our project managers on successful bids.
- Visit job sites when required and needed
- Collaborate with project teams for estimating and project handoffs
- Participate in project kickoff meetings to ensure alignment with the production team
- Maintain vendor pricing updates and ensure accurate cost databases
- Adhere to AWI specifications and integrate specialty materials like veneers into project scopes
- Develop comprehensive project estimates and proposals within required timeframes
- Collaborate with team members during project kickoff meetings
