About the role
We are looking for an Upholstery Supervisor to help scale our thriving upholstery business. We need a skilled individual who can effectively oversee a luxury upholstery manufacturing business by developing a team to produce consistent, high-quality, and efficient upholstery while reducing costs through labor and fabric optimization. This candidate will work closely with our product development department to develop new products with accurate and competitive pricing along with high quality.

What you can do for us:
- Collaborate with Customer Service and Sales. Understand the competitive landscape, communicate relevant upholstery specifications to the sales force, and identify opportunities for cost and quality improvements.
- Work with Product Development to craft upholstery based on product development ideas/specifications, ensuring quality standards are met and accurate costing data (labor and materials) are presented in routine review meetings.
- Organize the labor, equipment, and workflow of upholstery production processes to meet departmental objectives and daily scheduled production plans.
- Assess current upholstery operations and make recommendations on future design and equipment to help effectively scale the department.
- Supervise a growing upholstery team, including upholsterers, seamstresses, cutters, packers, and administrative clerks (roughly 15 team-members).
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for each production function, enforcing quality standards.
- Generate production reports for management team review.
- Assist with the oversight of the inventory of fabrics and other materials flowing through the department.
- Procure upholstery materials and supplies in a timely manner (including foam, general supplies, and sofette/sofa frames), seeking new sourcing partnerships both domestically and internationally.

Requirements
- Understanding of upholstery processes, workflow, and quality standards
- Material/Inventory Planning & Production Scheduling
- 5 years of effective Supervisory and team development experience
- Highly effective in problem solving and analytical thinking
- High sense of urgency, attention to detail, and cross-functional collaboration
- Effective, timely and clear communication, both verbal and written
- Familiarity with an ERP system and MS Office software programs
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or other design software applications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
CompensationStarting base pay: $65,000-$75,000 annual salary. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
