What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Receivable Analyst position at Ardmore?
The Accounts Receivable Analyst will be focused on maximizing revenues in support of Ardmore’s mission, and will assist the Finance department to ensure timely billing for services provided and collection of receivables. The staff member in this position is required to review account information, correct discrepancies, perform proper billing, review payments received and investigate unpaid claims.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Processes billing for services rendered utilizing both automated and semi-automated methods through Maryland billing systems and Ardmore’s financial software.
- Researches and resolves discrepancies before billing.
- Compares remittance reports to billed claims to determine payment status of claims.
- Initiates research promptly on all claims not paid within an expected timeframe.
- Develops expertise in use of the Maryland LTSS and PCIS2 billing systems.
- Prepares timely journal entries in the accounting system to record revenue and accounts receivable transactions.
- Works frequently with other departments to obtain information necessary for billing and to resolve discrepancies.
- Prepares reports and statements for internal use.
- Supports budget and forecasting activities.
- Maintains a high level of accuracy.
- Works with the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Accountant to ensure timely operations in the Finance Department as related to billing and accounts receivable.
- Provides training to new and existing staff as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Strong math and computer skills.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications and accounting software.
- High level of organizational and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience in not-for-profit organizations, particularly in IDD service providers, is preferred.
- Ability to develop and maintain constructive working relationships with staff within Finance and throughout the organization.
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexible work schedule availability is required.

- Must work in-person a minimum of two days per week. Management reserves the right to adjust required in-person and remote work at its discretion.

- Must have a clean criminal history record.
- Must be able to pass a drug screening.
