Job Title :  Credit Controller

Location : London / Hybrid (Typically 2 / 3 days in the office)

Manager says :

We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Credit Controller to manage overdue premium payments from brokers. You will play a crucial role in monitoring and recovering outstanding premiums, resolving premium discrepancies, and working closely with key stakeholders to ensure efficient credit control processes.

What you will do :

  • Premium & Debt Management – Monitor and action overdue premiums from brokers, ensuring timely recovery.
  • Broker & Underwriter Liaison – Collaborate with brokers and underwriters to resolve premium discrepancies and ensure accurate financial reconciliation.
  • Aged Debt Reduction – Develop and implement action plans to reduce aged debt at the broker level, particularly for the largest debtors, and track progress.
  • Credit Control & Compliance – Liaise with brokers on overdue premiums, issuing notices of cancellation where necessary.
  • Reporting & Analysis – Produce and send statements of outstanding premium, track debtor performance, and provide insights to management.
  • Key Competencies & Skills :

  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills to resolve outstanding premium issues.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills for liaising with brokers and internal teams.
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple accounts.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with finance and underwriting teams.
  • Strong commercial awareness of the insurance industry and premium collection processes.
  • Qualifications & Experience :

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a credit control role, preferably within the insurance sector.
  • Proficiency in finance systems and Microsoft Excel for reporting and analysis.
  • Experience in managing aged debt and premium collections is highly desirable.

  • Depending on the role, you may be invited to attend a second stage interview with further members of the team.
