Location : London / Hybrid (Typically 2 / 3 days in the office - flexible)

What you will do :

As the Head of Data Management, you will :

Develop and implement comprehensive data management strategies and policies

Design, implement, and manage a DAMA-aligned Data & AI Governance Framework tailored to our evolving needs.

Develop policies, standards, and processes to embed robust data governance practices into all areas of our business.

Establish and maintain Data Ownership, Stewardship, and a Governance Forum that operates effectively.

Oversee data risks, ensuring alignment with our entities risk policies and the ensure rollout of key controls.

Build and manage a business-focused data quality service and a comprehensive data catalogue.

Define group reference data requirements aligned with growth agenda, lead delivery team and manage quality controls

Drive cultural transformation by delivering a data governance change plan, challenging the status quo, and advocating for best practices.

Collaborate with key stakeholders, including Legal, Privacy, Risk and Product teams, to ensure compliance with regulations like GDPR and the AI Act.

Lead and develop a high-performing team of data governance and quality specialists.

What you will bring :

Over 10 years of experience in Data Governance delivery and risk management, ideally within financial services.

Proven expertise in designing and implementing Data Governance Frameworks in complex organisations.

Deep knowledge of the DAMA framework and its practical application.

Strong technical acumen, including SQL skills and familiarity with data governance technologies.

Excellent leadership and team management skills.

Exceptional stakeholder management and communication abilities, with a talent for influencing and driving change.

Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Self-motivation, a passion for learning, and the ability to thrive without direct supervision.

Relevant degree or professional certifications, membership in industry bodies and an established professional network are preferred.

This is your chance to voice your thoughts on the role and we will outline our expectations and ensure this role aligns with your ambitions for the future.

Depending on the role, you may be invited to attend a second stage interview with further members of the team.
