Natural Gas Pipeline Inspector

Ardurra is seeking a Natural Gas Pipeline Inspector to join our staff in Huntsville, AL.

This position will support local natural gas pipeline installation projects in Madison County and the greater Huntsville, AL area. In addition, there is also the opportunity to support water & wastewater infrastructure construction projects so experience with water & wastewater is a plus but not required. A welding certification such as a Certified Pipeline Welding Inspector (CPWI) and / or American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector Certification will be highly valued and is preferred.

Primary Duties

• Knowledge of, and ability to interpret, technical specifications, contract requirements, engineering drawings, and standard construction details are critical requirements of the position.
• Responsibilities will include observing that the work is completed in general accordance with the drawings and specifications, daily field reporting, tracking contractors installed quantities, witnessing tests, documenting test results, and serving as a liaison between the engineer, contractor, and adjacent residents and businesses.
• Typical projects involve the construction of natural gas infrastructure projects, including pipelines, regulator stations, gate stations and other infrastructure using various construction methods.
• Knowledge of installation methods of polyethylene and welded steel pipelines, including open trenching and trenchless methods such as jack and bore and directional drilling are strongly preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and familiarity with operating smart devices and computers preferred.
• Qualified candidates may work on one or more projects simultaneously.
