Ardurra is seeking a Water Resources Engineer/Project Manager to join our staff in West Palm Beach, FL.

Our water group consists of seasoned engineers, hydrologists, and environmental scientists dedicated to delivering sustainable solutions for water resources management. We specialize in projects related to stormwater management, water quality, flood control, and environmental preservation. We leverage the latest computer modeling programs combined with traditional engineering and business solutions to find the right solutions for our clients. Our team is committed to addressing complex challenges and providing innovative solutions to protect South Florida’s water resources.

We are seeking an experienced Water Resources Engineer to join our team in South Florida as a Project Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in water resources engineering, with expertise in hydrology, hydraulic modeling, stormwater management, and environmental regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on impactful projects that improve water systems and support sustainability efforts throughout the region.

Primary Function

The role will provide engineering assistance for hydraulic analysis to assess watershed hydrologic and hydraulic characteristics, including conveyance capacity of structures and canal systems. The position will also manage and work on a variety of water resources projects including but not limited to flood control studies for current and future condition scenarios.

Primary Duties

  • Provide expertise to conduct analysis related to joint probabilities or rainfall, sea level rise, and storm surge events; and assess damages
  • Coordinate and participate in review and post-processing model outputs that are used to generate performance measures, temporal and spatial summaries, water-depth and damage estimate maps for various rainfall, storm surge and sea level rise scenarios for areas and sub-areas within the model domain and comparison of results with historical data and previous modeling output
  • Scheduling, tracking and reporting milestones, tasks and activities
  • Attending meetings to discuss project performance
  • Actively managing assigned projects
  • Actively coordinating with technical staff and outside agencies
  • Developing Scopes of Work for modeling studies
  • Reviewing outside engineer qualifications and experience, model software selection, and data sources
  • Overseeing and participating in the completion and review of contract deliverables
  • Providing QA/QC of various phases of modeling
  • Preparation of status reports
  • Assisting in archiving of final deliverable documents – reports and models and associated tools

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, OR Computer Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • 8 years minimum of related experience or 6 years related experience with advanced MS degree or 4 year related experience with advanced PhD Degree in water resources and project management
  • State of Florida PE license is preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire date
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) accreditation preferred
  • Experience with flood control model tools such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, MIKE-SHE, MIKE-Hydro, etc.
  • Experience with ArcGIS
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interface with clients, contractors and regulatory agencies
  • Excellent technical writing skills for use in the development of engineering reports and studies
  • Able to work efficiently within a predetermined project budget and schedule
