We are seeking an ultimate Design Engineer that enjoys working in a progressive, team-based environment and is committed to making a positive impact with our Engineering team. This is a great mix between CAD design and hands-on engineering.
Position responsibilities:
- Design Class A parts using SolidWorks surface modeling.
- Design mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks solid modeling.
- Participate in activities to verify the accuracy of designs, while documenting each process.
- Perform redesigns and design changes on existing products to improve manufacturability, reduce warranty, or reduce costs.
- Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications within file management software.
- Create, update, and ensure accuracy of BOMs within ERP software.
- Initiate and validate ECOs as they relate to product improvements and/or modifications.
- Define, oversee, and help perform testing and auditing of new products and product modifications.
- Provide support to product manufacturing engineering and manufacturing during production release of a new product.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering or related field required.
- 3 years of experience in mechanical product design required, 5 years preferred.
- 3D CAD mechanical design experience (SolidWorks preferred).
- 3D CAD surface design experience (SolidWorks preferred).
- Project management experience with multiple projects.
- Experience with multiple materials and processes such as injection molding, rubber extrusion, metal stamping, mechanical assembly, and others.
Travel
- Occasional travel is required, especially between local ARE facilities (within a 15-mile radius of one another).
