Middle School Math Tutor
Employment Duration: 10-month position - Part Time
The Middle School Math Tutor is a durational grant funded position who assists students in understanding and mastering fundamental math concepts. Tutors will have a passion for teaching, excellent communication skills, and an understanding of middle school mathematics. The tutor will provide one-on-one or small group instruction to middle school students, helping them build confidence and excel in their math studies.

Responsibilities:
- Provide personalized and engaging one-on-one or small group math tutoring sessions to middle school students.
- Assess students' current understanding of math concepts and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with the classroom teacher to implement tailored lesson plans and teaching strategies to address each student's specific needs.
- Teach and reinforce fundamental math skills, including both those identified for each grade level.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods, materials, and resources to enhance students' understanding of math concepts.
- Monitor students' progress and adjust tutoring techniques as necessary to ensure continuous improvement.
- Encourage and motivate students to actively participate in the learning process and develop a positive attitude towards math.
- Provide constructive feedback to students and their parents/guardians on their progress and areas for improvement.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, and school staff to coordinate efforts in supporting students' academic success.
- Stay updated on the school curriculum, textbooks, and instructional methods to align tutoring sessions with classroom learning objectives.

This position will require work on the computer for periods of time. Sitting, walking through the building to other departments and carrying light materials. Some travel may be required. The ability to communicate clearly.
