Position Overview:
Area Stage Company is seeking a creative and motivated Social Media Marketing Intern to join our marketing team. This unpaid internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in social media management within a dynamic theatre environment. The intern will assist in enhancing our online presence, engaging with our community, and promoting our productions and programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Content Creation (Ideation and Execution): Develop engaging content for Area Stage’s social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok.
- Scheduling and Posting: Assist in planning and scheduling posts to ensure consistent and timely updates across all platforms.
- Audience Engagement: Monitor and respond to audience interactions, fostering a positive and active online community.
- Analytics Tracking: Analyze social media metrics to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and suggest improvements.
- Research: Stay updated on social media trends and best practices to enhance Area Stage’s digital strategies.
Qualifications:
- College-level Junior or Senior specializing in Marketing, Communications, or related fields preferred.
- Strong passion for theatre and the performing arts, preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter (X), TikTok, LinkedIn).
- Basic understanding of social media analytics and tools.
- Creative thinking and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Prior experience in social media content creation and/or management is a plus.
- (Optional) Utilize personal camera equipment for content creation and capturing high-quality photo and video
