Job Title :         Director of Airport Operations

Reports To :    VP of Airport Operations

Status :             Exempt

Department :   Operations

Broad Functions :   Oversee airport operations in order to achieve stated objectives in sales, costs, employee retention, guest service and satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness and sanitation at Areas USA.

Main Duties and Responsibilities :

1.   Assists VP of Operations with developing business strategies to reach organizational goals and objectives.

2.   Reviews staffing and budget guidelines in conjunction with annual financial statements.

3.   Acts as corporate representative for public relations activities as needed.

4.   Work with team members to ensure quality storefronts and timely store openings.

5.   Assist VP of Operations in resolving design issues and verify that submittals comply with airport authority and management companies design criteria.

6.   Assist location operators in the execution of day-to-day operations.

7.   Execute the current business strategy that anticipates rapid growth.

8.   Interface with Legal, Human Resources, Loss Prevention, Business Development, Finance and other business units in the daily affairs of the operation.

Supervisory Responsibilities :

  • Develops and maintains an effective organization through the selection, training, compensation, motivation, termination and evaluation of personnel at management and associate levels.
  • Provides guidance and direction to management employees to assist in their professional development.
  • Conducts Performance Evaluations of the General Managers under his / her supervision.

Skills and Qualifications :

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Hospitality or related field, Master's Degree a Plus.
  • 5 plus years' experience in upper management of food, beverage and retail operations handling multiple locations.
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple departments and diverse populations.
  • Computer Literacy. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and other associated software.
  • Be able to lead a team of employees to reach company goals.
  • Possess excellent strategic management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written Communication Skills

  • Time Management, organization, planning, project management
  • Guest Relations, Diplomacy and Professionalism.
