A well-established $100M General Contractor specializing in retail, restaurant, and other commercial construction projects is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their Lake Forest, CA office. Job Summary:
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing ground-up and tenant improvement (TI) projects for retail, medical, restaurant, and commercial spaces. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, budgeting, scheduling, and subcontractor management skills and will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage ground-up and TI commercial construction projects from pre-construction through completion.
- Work closely with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure successful project execution.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost controls to meet financial targets.
- Monitor job progress, site conditions, safety compliance, and quality control.
- Resolve project issues and conflicts efficiently while ensuring seamless communication between all stakeholders.
- Conduct regular onsite visits as needed to oversee construction progress and address any onsite challenges.
- Manage contracts, RFIs, submittals, and change orders to ensure smooth workflow.
- Mentor and collaborate with Assistant Project Managers and other team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years of project management experience in retail, restaurant, or commercial construction.
- Strong ground-up and TI experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of building codes, construction best practices, and permitting processes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once and ensure timely completion.
- Proficiency in construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project.
- Strong understanding of project financials, including budgeting and forecasting.
- Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
