- Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and managing expectations throughout the lifecycle of each project.
- Resource Management: Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure resources (materials, labor, equipment) are properly allocated and utilized to meet project deadlines and budget constraints.
- Budget and Cost Control: Develop, track, and manage project budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within financial constraints. Handle change orders, procurement, and other financial aspects of project management.
- Modern Tools Implementation: Embrace and adapt to the company’s evolving project management tools, including the integration of AI technology, to improve efficiency, tracking, and project delivery. Be open to learning and utilizing innovative tools to enhance project management processes.
- Compliance and Documentation: Ensure that all project activities are fully compliant with local regulations, safety standards, and internal policies. Oversee the preparation and completion of necessary documentation and reports.
- Problem-Solving and Risk Management: Identify potential risks or obstacles in the project lifecycle and develop proactive solutions to avoid delays or cost overruns.
- Progress Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior management on project status, potential risks, and any necessary adjustments. Present progress reports, cost analysis, and completion timelines.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of hands-on project management experience, specifically with wet utilities such as water, sewer, stormwater, and pipeline construction.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor junior staff, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration. Comfortable leading teams and managing multiple stakeholders.
- Project Management Tools: Experience using modern project management software. Familiarity with tools leveraging AI and other advanced technologies is a plus, but a willingness to learn is essential.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to internal processes and continuously improve practices, especially as the company evolves.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Education & Certifications: A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications such as PMP, AACE, or similar are advantageous.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to anticipate project challenges and develop solutions.
