What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program/Project Manager position at ARES Corporation?
Provide for the management, supervision, and coordination of engineering, technical and support staff in the implementation and execution of requirements for the Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) Safety Office to facilitate the safe research and development, testing, fielding, operation and demil/disposal of DOD weapon systems, munitions, hazardous material, Unexploded Ordnance (UXO), and support equipment. Manage and direct technical expertise and support required to perform all management and project administration for the specified efforts or specific tasks required in support of the AMCOM/U.S. Army Contracting Command-Redstone Arsenal, AL. All tasks will be performed onsite (Redstone Arsenal (RSA) unless otherwise indicated. Travel may be required to accomplish specified tasks and support functions. Responsibilities include directing, coordinating, and supporting the AMCOM mission assisting in the optimization and execution of safety support to the warfighter and members of the acquisition, sustainment and AMCOM R&D community.
Provide Program/Project management support directing engineering and technical personnel with safety expertise in existing techniques and analysis, while developing new and innovative ways to ensure the safety of the soldiers, civilians, contractors and non-combatants. Must have ability and knowledge to assist AMCOM to develop, implement and maintain safety oversight/insight providing management and technical expertise for review, evaluation, implementation of system safety across AMCOM programs and platforms including multi-stage missile systems utilizing liquid and solid rocket propellant, aviation based weapon systems, unmanned ground/aerial vehicle systems and radar, and other target tracking hardware.
Experience:
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of AMCOM and Aviation and Missile Research, Development and Engineering
- Center (AMRDEC) Safety Office program for DoD weapon systems and infrastructure.
- Knowledge and understanding of Army Safety Program - Army Regulation 385 –10; Army Explosive Safety Program;
- Army Radiation Safety Program - 10 CFR 835; and MIL-STD-882
- Expertise, training, and qualifications relative to Unexploded Ordnance (UXO)-related operations including, but may not be limited to: military munitions responses, explosives safety; recognition of munitions and explosives, and inspection or certification of munitions debris and unexploded ordnance and explosives ordnance disposal related operation
