The CIPS Manager at Los Angeles Air Force Base (LAAFB) is responsible for overseeing the Cyberspace Infrastructure Planning System (CIPS) and managing all new IT requirement requests in compliance with TO 00-35D-3005. This role involves developing and coordinating technical solutions with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely processing of IT requirements, and serving as the primary Point of Contact for CIPS at LAAFB. Additionally, the CIPS Manager is tasked with training unit CIPS Points of Contact (POCs) on proper request submission procedures. The position also includes maintaining Communications and Information Systems Installation Records (CSIRs) and managing CIPS Visualization Component (CVC) records for telecommunications infrastructure, including coaxial, fiber, and copper cabling. Responsibilities extend to coordinating cable plant modifications, ensuring accurate documentation of infrastructure changes, and providing quality control (QC) reviews on CVC updates.
Requirements :
Candidates must have either a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or an equivalent field from an accredited or CAE-designated institution with five or more years of experience or 10 or more years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure planning, records management, or network operations. A PMP certification may be substituted for the degree requirement. Strong familiarity with TO 00-35D-3005 and TO 00-33A-1001 is required, as well as expertise in managing CIPS, CSIRs, and CVC records. Experience in coordinating IT projects, developing technical solutions, and ensuring compliance with Air Force IT planning standards is essential. The candidate must have proficiency in network infrastructure documentation, quality control processes, and reviewing IT modifications. Prior experience training personnel on CIPS processes and working with stakeholders to implement infrastructure changes is highly desirable. The role may require occasional travel to Fort MacArthur and other locations, and the candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
