SUMMARY

The Cyber Intelligence Operations Analyst is a member of a team that focuses on helping clients make informed decisions during threat actor communications, while utilizing intelligence and data analysis tools. The candidate will work with members of the digital forensics incident response (DFIR) teams in developing effective threat actor communications plans and providing and briefing timely and accurate information to clients.

The Cyber Intelligence Operations Analyst will also contribute to the research and publication of threat assessments and internal work products. The work may occasionally include after-hours support during major engagements. A successful analyst will thrive on learning new tactics, techniques, and procedures and how threat groups apply them during cybercrime operations.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Briefs clients on cyber intelligence threats and provides consulting services throughout all stages of the incident response cycle
  • Provides recommendations on how to communicate with threat actors during an engagement
  • Updates engagement tickets and threat profiling, and collaborates with the DFIR teams to monitor threat actor activity
  • Identifies and reports on the current and changing Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) used by ransomware threat actors
  • Creates finished intelligence analysis for internal and external clients through written reporting, blog posts, and industry insights to help reinforce Arete as a thought leader in cyber threat intelligence
  • Establishes priorities, works independently and proceeds with objectives with minimal supervision
  • Possesses strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to identify and resolve compliance-related issues effectively
  • Identifies intelligence gaps and submits requests for information to fill those gaps
  • Responds to requests for information (RFI) from internal and external stakeholders
  • Documents and records threat actor activity, compliance information, and team's action items
  • May perform other duties as assigned by management

  • JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate's degree and a minimum of 4 years related experience; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • At least 3 years of experience in conducting intelligence analysis, providing situational awareness briefs to senior managers, and recommending courses of action to stakeholders
  • Industry certifications
  • Intelligence certifications / training courses

  • Information security essential courses / certifications a plus but not required
  • Technical requirements
  • Understanding of the ransomware threat landscape

  • Knowledge in cyber incident response a significant plus but not required
  • Ability to work after hours, weekend, and holiday shifts
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite products

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

    Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with Arete salary and benefit policy.

    FLSA OVERTIME CATEGORY

    Job is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
