Aretum is seeking a creative and motivated User Experience (UX) Design Specialist - Contingent to enhance our design team. In this role, you will focus on elevating the user experience of our clients, primarily within the government sector, by creating engaging and efficient user interfaces that simplify complex processes.
As a UX Design Specialist, you'll employ user-centered design principles to oversee the end-to-end design process. This includes conducting user research, developing personas and user journeys, creating wireframes and prototypes, and performing usability testing to ensure that the end products meet user needs and expectations.
Responsibilities Include:
- Conduct stakeholder and user research, including journey mapping and persona development
- Lead ideation sessions and translate findings into wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups using Figma
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and accessibility architects
- Ensure designs meet accessibility (Section 508) and usability standards
- Present design concepts and findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- 5 years of UX design experience in Agile environments
- Demonstrated expertise in the full UCD lifecycle
- Proficiency in Figma (preferred), FigJam, or similar tools
- Experience designing for Section 508 compliance
- Strong communication and presentation skills
