We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fortinet / FortiGate Firewall Engineer for an onsite 6 week contract in Indianapolis, Indiana. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network security, specifically with FortiGate firewalls. This role will involve designing, implementing, and managing firewall solutions to protect our clients' networks from cyber threats.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and deploy FortiGate firewall solutions to meet client requirements
- Monitor and maintain firewall infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security
- Troubleshoot and resolve firewall-related issues in a timely manner
- Perform regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend solutions
- Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate firewall solutions with existing network infrastructure
- Develop and maintain documentation for firewall configurations, policies, and procedures
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in network security and firewall management
- Provide technical support and training to clients and internal teams as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with FortiGate firewalls
- Fortinet NSE certification (NSE 4 or higher) is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, and switching
- Experience with firewall policy creation, VPN setup, and intrusion detection/prevention systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
