Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Contracting Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations, and negotiating contracts that align with our organizational goals. This role requires a strong understanding of technical writing, records management, and change management to effectively support our business operations.
Duties
- Oversee the procurement process from initiation to contract execution, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Negotiate terms and conditions of contracts with vendors and suppliers to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Draft and review technical documents, proposals, and contracts to ensure clarity and compliance with intellectual property law.
- Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities and contract modifications in accordance with records management policies.
- Utilize Salesforce for tracking procurement activities and managing vendor relationships.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify needs, develop procurement strategies, and implement change management processes.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities.
- Provide guidance on best practices in business management related to procurement processes.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Contracting Officer or in a similar role within a government or corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and other relevant procurement regulations.
- Demonstrated ability in technical writing, negotiation skills, and understanding of intellectual property law.
- Familiarity with records management systems and practices.
- Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM tools for managing contracts and vendor relationships.
- Background in business management or related fields is preferred.
