Argenta is currently looking to fill the role of QC Inspector - 2nd Shift, Shawnee, KS location
Job Summary
Inspects and samples raw materials and packaging components, critical consumables, printed packaging components and third-party and contract manufactured finished goods, using established procedures to meet regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Sample and inspect incoming raw materials, components and contract manufactured/buyout finished goods following appropriate specifications, QC Inspection procedures and methods, and document findings in a professional manner for communication to outside departments.
- Based on the above information, make a disposition on incoming raw materials, components and contract manufactured goods.
- Establish and maintain Packaging Standards Library for use in inspection activities.
- Follow safety procedures while involved in Inspection activities.
- Perform non-routine tasks of reviewing inventory of rejected or quarantined materials, perform material-to-material transfers and sampling materials for re-assay or for sample requests made by other departments.
- Follow DEA procedures in transporting and sampling raw materials.
- Work with Supply Chain, Warehouse, Purchasing, QA Compliance, Quality Control (Chemistry & Micro) Laboratories, QA Documentation Center, and Production in the control of goods from receipt through release/rejection/destruction and in the preparation of documents to track movement of materials within the cGMP environment.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Associate degree or equivalent level of pharmaceutical experience.
- A scientific background, including college math and chemistry/biology.
- Three (3) to Five (5) years' experience in pharmaceutical goods/QC Inspection.
- The Incumbent should possess skills in: 1) multitasking; 2) following written and verbal instructions accurately; 3) ability to read blueprints; 4) metrology knowledge (use of calipers, micrometers), 5) working independently on daily priorities; 6) writing draft procedures for review by the QCI Manager; 7) following cGMP guidelines; 8) making suggestions to create more efficient operations to the QCI Manager; and 9) making appropriate decisions within the bounds of the position based on procedures and policies.
- The QC Inspector works in conjunction with the QCI Manager without direct supervision at the facility. The Incumbent must have good people skills in working in a team environment.
- The Incumbent must be able to learn and operate a powered fork truck.
