We are seeking an Forklift Operator to join the team in Valdosta, GA
Status of hire: Full time

Reports to: Production Manager
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for operating and managing industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries as well as move them to and from warehouse storage areas to machines within the plant. In addition, it will be necessary identify and transport materials from the loading docks and/ or into railroad cars, trucks or storage facilities.
- Utilizes safety techniques in order to reduce industrial accidents and loss of products.
- Signal workers to discharge, dump, or level materials.
- Hook tow trucks to trailer hitches and fasten attachments, such as graders, plows, rollers, or winch cables to tractors, using hitchpins.
- Turn valves and open chutes to dump, spray, or release materials from dump cars or storage bins into hoppers
- Operate cranes, hoists, or other moving or lifting equipment.
- Inspect cargo areas for cleanliness or condition.
- Move materials, equipment, or supplies.
- Load shipments, belongings, or materials.
- Operate vehicles or material-moving equipment.
- Position material handling equipment.
- Secure cargo.
- Mark materials or objects for identification.
- Weigh materials to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Clean vehicles or vehicle components.
- Maintain vehicles in good working condition.
- Operate packing or other material processing equipment.
- Communicate with others to coordinate material handling or movement.
- Install parts, assemblies, or attachments in transportation or material handling equipment
- Determine the need for repairs
- Keep updated records of inventory
- Produce activity logs
- Comply with company policies and guidelines
- Assist in keeping a safe environment
- Familiarize self with productive capacity of machines or lines and work from schedule and change sheets to assure correct and prompt delivery of items to proper destination.
- Use hand truck or dollies, work saver or similar powered vehicles.
- Record incoming and outgoing production and supplies.
- Load correct finished product into trailers.
- Load correct finished product into trailers.
- Receive incoming material to proper storage or use location, using lift truck or hand cart.
- Notify supervisor of any incidences of recurring equipment malfunctions, discrepancies in shipments, receipts, delays and corrective action taken and of any poor-quality material or supplies noted.
- Operate equipment and assist production as needed
- Make routine inspections of lift trucks to see that they are properly serviced. Add lubrication and coolant as required or service batteries.
- Establish and maintain a safe and healthy environment consistent with Arglass policies and procedures while striving for zero accidents.
