Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Support & Supervision:
- Monitor and document patients’ activities, behaviors, and safety throughout their daily schedule.
- Provide consistent and compassionate emotional support while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
- Conduct regular room and safety checks in accordance with facility protocol.
- Support patients through emotional distress or crises using de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed care.
- Therapeutic Programming:
- Encourage and assist patients in attending group therapy, individual sessions, recreational activities, and daily living skills development.
- Co-facilitate or support therapeutic groups and structured activities under the guidance of clinical staff.
- Observe and report patients’ participation and engagement to the treatment team.
- Clinical and Operational Duties:
- Accurately document patient interactions, behaviors, and incident reports in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Assist with admission and discharge processes, including orientation, belongings searches, and documentation.
- Support with medication observation and documentation (as allowed per licensing).
- Maintain cleanliness and order of residential areas, reporting any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Team Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with clinical, medical, and administrative teams during shift handoffs and multidisciplinary meetings.
- Uphold program structure and provide feedback to improve patient experience and outcomes.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year experience in a behavioral health, mental health, or residential treatment setting
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen
- Strong communication, observation, and interpersonal skills
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or related field
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (e.g., Kipu, ZenCharts)
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), Handle With Care, or similar training
- Experience working with individuals with serious mental illness (SMI)
