Position Overview:
Planner will be responsible producing and maintaining production schedules to assure on-time production of quality products at most competitive cost, with minimum inventory investments.
What you will do:
- Responsible for the daily, weekly and monthly production schedules for specified areas and interfacing directly with production to produce and/or re-schedule orders based on demand and customer need.
- Utilize reports that are generated daily to show inventory on hand and the 15 to 30 day demand for manufactured products.
- Work in conjunction with purchasing and other schedulers to assure efficient and timely delivery of components and receiving to help expedite incoming goods and other goods produced in-house.
- Cooperate with quality, research, engineering and other departments in the development of equipment and product specification and substitute materials.
- Communicate with management and other departments on all backorders.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills for Success:
- AA/AS or 3 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- PC proficient with such programs as MS Word, Excel and QAD.
- Experience with MRP and DRP Preferred.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks and set priorities. Position requires an ability to function with a sense of urgency while maintaining a participative environment and positive attitude. Must possess the interpersonal skills to enhance teamwork and foster an environment of continuous improvement.
