Summary


The Investment Portfolio & Planning Specialist position is a fast-paced, directly engaged career growth position. As an all-encompassing role, the ideal candidate will work towards the ability to conduct and monitor investment portfolio research and analysis, including work on outside SMA Managers and private investments. You will be involved in monitoring and building portfolios and investment plans. You will participate in the execution of the investment and planning decisions. You will work towards the ability to conduct client-facing investment portfolio, planning, and performance reviews. The Investment Portfolio & Planning Specialist will focus on personal development and growth through mentorship from the company's Lead Portfolio Manager & President. 

 

                                                  Essential Duties & Responsibilities


Client and Portfolio Management:

  • Client Portfolio Management: Actively engage in portfolio management and investment reviews; complete information gathering; and implement recommendations
  • Client Relationship Management: Working towards regular and consistent client contact and communications; promptly and accurately responding to questions and the needs of clients
  • Client Service: Prepare for client meetings, planning updates, and retirement plan illustrations; maintain and respond to client retirement plan needs and calls
  • Comprehensive Investment Planning: Coordination of asset management, estate planning, and risk management
  • Client Asset Management: Coordination of investment planning and wealth management to include, but not limited to, analysis, estate planning, tax strategies for assets under management
  • Gather information regarding client finances, organize electronic files, maintain contact management system; prepare reports, letters, and other correspondence; assist with account set-up; respond to administrative support timely
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations across all portfolio activities
  • Actively participate in internal team and strategy meetings


Account Management:

  • Oversee electronic confirmations and portfolio modeling; reconcile holdings in funds with custodian and/or accounting records; monitor trade activities
  • Compile reports for clients; execute discretionary trading programs
  • Facilitate distributions, rebalancing, and complete accompanying paperwork
  • Correctly document all client and prospective client conversations and business actions into the CRM system; create and maintain client files; prepare and send client follow-ups 
  • Routinely monitor accounts for excess cash
  • Maintain up-to-date client data in the CRM system for purposes of reporting, scheduling, fee tracking, and marketing purposes


Communication and Reporting:

  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive portfolio status reports, dashboards, and presentations
  • Identify and escalate potential issues and conflicts impacting the client’s portfolio
  • Act as a central point of contact for inquiries related to portfolio planning and administration


Marketing:

  • Participates in the business development process as needed with prospective clients
  • Actively engaged in firm marketing strategies and various projects key to the growth of the firm
  • Mentor with the team members to gain marketing knowledge and hands-on experience in all business functions for personal and professional growth

 

General Accountabilities:

  • Promptly, accurately, and professionally address and respond to email communications
  • Generate proposals, illustrations, and other miscellaneous materials
  • Develop and follow through with professional development goals within determined timeframe; complete all firm and compliance-related continuing educational credits within required deadlines
  • Read and maintain current knowledge base for rule changes and strategies
  • Mitigate risks and resolve conflicts within the portfolio by analyzing data and collaborating with relevant colleagues
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned

                                                          Required Qualifications


  • FINRA Series 65 required or willing to successfully obtain within the first six (6) months of employment
  • BS or BA degree or higher education in a relevant course field
  • Minimum of ten (10) years in the investment portfolio and planning field or equivalent
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to collect and analyze data; problem-solve and make informed and supported decisions; obtain solutions and/or make recommendations in a timely and efficient manner
  • Experience or willingness to quickly learn investment planning software (e.g. eMoney or similar software)

                                                           Location Requirements


  • This position is based in Wellesley Hills, MA
  • The candidate is required to work on-site at our office on a full-time basis physically
  • No remote work, except for client meetings held outside the office or potential travel for industry conferences
