What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Protection Program Intern position at Argonne National Laboratory?
The Environmental Protection Program (EPP) partners and collaborates with all Argonne employees to accomplish Argonne's mission while protecting human health and the environment. EPP conducts work in the following areas :
- Environmental media (air, water, soil, sediment) sampling
- Project and Facility permitting with the U.S. EPA and Illinois EPA
- Analysis of Federal and Illinois State environmental regulations
- Inspection of work areas and areas of environmental interest
- Data entry, analysis, and trending
- Assessment of work and management practices
- Environmental radiation protection and ALARA review
Interns will assist staff in implementing the EPP in one or more of the above areas with appropriate guidance, oversight, and training.

The expected hiring range for this position is $19.22 - $33.48.
