What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Power Systems Advisor position at Argonne National Laboratory?
As a part of Decision and Infrastructure Sciences, the candidate provides project development and oversight for the application of energy systems research, risk analysis, and assessment of dependencies and interdependencies across critical gas and electric infrastructure systems. Provides expertise in scope, requirements, and management for energy system planning and optimization projects, including, for example, incorporating probabilistic methods, power flow simulation, market analysis, and natural and other disruption analysis.
IN THIS POSITION, THE CANDIDATE WILL :
- Lead and support the development and implementation of research methodologies to analyze interdependent energy systems and related infrastructure.
- Support the implementation of Argonne's energy resilience program through outreach to industry and government partners.
- Identify and nurture relationships with new program sponsors, including capture management of funding opportunities.
- Work with Argonne staff to articulate both technical value and business value of Argonne's work to sponsors and industry partners.
- Represent Argonne at conferences, seminars, and meetings.
- Provide technical reviews of and expert advice / guidance on assumptions / approaches / results of various energy reliability and resilience planning studies for DOE and other sponsors.

To perform the essential functions of this position successful applicants must provide proof of U.S. citizenship and must be able to obtain and maintain a "Q" security clearance, which is required to comply with federal regulations and contract.
This position can be hired at one of two levels; the selected candidate will be placed at the appropriate level (RD4 or RD5) dependent upon the depth and breadth of relevant knowledge and skills. The minimum requirements of the two levels are as follows :

The expected hiring range for this position is $130,467.00 - $208,431.99.
