What are the responsibilities and job description for the Illinois-LSAMP/Argonne Summer 2025 Internship Application position at argonne?
Students funded by the Illinois-LSAMP program are eligible to apply for a 10-week research experience for Summer 2025 at Argonne National Laboratory. Funding of this opportunity will be provided by Chicago State University, the lead institution for the Illinois-LSAMP program.
A typical experience starts with students spending the first week with an Argonne supervising staff member devising a research strategy and attending mandatory training and safety classes. For the next few weeks, the supervisor will provide assistance and guidance to support the student’s research project.
The student will be expected to complete a pre- and post-survey, a virtual oral or poster presentation, a 1500 – 3000-word research report, and a one-page peer review. In addition to their research activities, participants attend a series of seminars in current topics in science and engineering as well as career and professional development.

Education and Experience Requirements
Must be an Illinois LSAMP funded student.
Must be currently enrolled full-time and have completed at least one year as a matriculated undergraduate student in STEM at the time of applying. Recent graduates are not eligible to participate.
Submit two references.
One from an Academic Advisor, who can complete the School Verification Questionnaire.
One Letter of Recommendation from an advisor, professor, manager, etc..
Undergraduate cumulative minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
18 years or older at the time the internship begins.
U.S. citizen or Legal Permanent Resident at the time of applying.
Pass a screening drug test.
