Overview
The Assistant Controller is considered a key member and strategic partner to the Plant Leadership Team(s) with primary responsibilities to support the PLT in the development and analysis of the annual budget and monthly forecasts for plant costs and capital expenditures and to provide internal / external reporting as necessary. The Assistant Controller will need to have a solid understanding of operations and will assist in the development of local team members on financial acumen.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics, highlighting trends and areas for improvement. Collaborate with key business and finance partners to improve financial forecast effectiveness and accuracy.
- Support the broader finance team and plant leadership team(s) in ad-hoc projects and initiatives to address specific financial challenges and opportunities.
- Lead the coordination of the fixed asset and physical inventory counts, providing monthly review / adjustments of inventory balances.
- Lead monthly internal financial performance reviews conversations in order to gain detailed understanding of variances to forecast and budget.
- Actively participate in the month-end closing process through analytical review and coordination of accounting processes with Corporate Finance Team.
- Accounting of inventory activity and expense postings such as consumption of materials, job cost adjustments, etc.
- Work with operational management to address concerns such as waste, production inefficiencies, etc.
- Oversee plant capital expenditures to ensure costs are recorded in accordance with GAAP and company policy.
- Prepare annual personal property declaration for designated location(s).
- Work with internal and external auditors on review materials and manage audit processes to efficient and successful results.
- Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of the financial systems, processes, and data, comply with Sarbanes-Oxley, and enhance the Companyââ¬â¢s value.
- Recommend and assist in implementation of solutions for improvements in accounting operational processes.
- Other duties may be required and will be assigned as necessary
Ability, Skills & Knowledge
Education
Bachelors in Accounting or Business
Pay range : $84,000 to $116,000
