Description
The Corporate Accountant II will be responsible for managing various financial tasks for Argus Companies, Inc. This role performs general accounting assignments that are broad in nature and assists in the day-to-day maintenance of the general ledger. This role will work with guidance from the accounting and financial team and must be knowledgeable of various internal controls procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts and document business transactions.
- Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and account control procedures.
- Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Scans and makes bank deposits, entering data accurately into accounting system.
- Review, audit and approve expense reports in Concur.
- Track prepaids and reconcile on a monthly basis.
- Perform bank reconciliations.
- Assign and review invoices in Concur.
- Assist in preparation of payroll.
- Assist with accounts payable.
- Record monthly recurring entries in accounting system.
- Assists the Controller with providing documentation for the financial and other annual audits.
- Assist with training staff on Vantagepoint and performs evaluations to ensure the software functions optimally.
- Set up and register Argus Companies with the Secretary of State as required, ensuring compliance with state regulations, maintains renewal of the registrations.
- Leads and supports various accounting tasks as assigned by management.
- Develops standard operating procedures for accounting processes.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements before going into job)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited university, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Five years’ experience in project accounting, preferably in an engineering or technical industry.
- Ability to professionally interface with accounting team.
- Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint and Concur beneficial.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
