The Project Accountant will be responsible for managing various financial tasks for Argus Consulting, Inc (ACI), including timecard review, invoice preparation, expense reporting and accounts receivable collection. This role will work closely with Project Controls and Project Administrators to support Project Management teams. This role must be knowledgeable of various internal controls procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads the preparation of client invoices. This includes preparing project draft invoices for review by the project manager, collaborating with project managers to make necessary changes, and finalizing invoices for submission
- Provides labor and expense data as requested and required based on projects’ contractual and invoicing requirements
- Works closely with clients, completing documentation as required and uploading invoices to the appropriate portals such as WAWF
- Monitors accounts receivable, reviews aged project accounts receivables, contacts clients for payments, and follows up on outstanding invoices
- Regularly review project WIP reports, discussing write-offs with leadership, and ensuring accurate project accounting
- Ensures that clients are contacted in the event of duplicate payments or other identified issues
- Works closely with project management team to address invoice or payment concerns
- Reviews, audits and approves employee expense reports in Concur, identifying and addressing discrepancies as needed
- Provides necessary documentation in Vantagepoint based on discussions and updates
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements before going into job)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited university or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Proficient in project accounting and budgeting with a strong understanding of fee types, and project billings.
- Ability to professionally interface with project managers and clients.
- Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint and Concur beneficial
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
