Costing Estimator gea
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Create material takeoffs and labor estimates according to sketches or engineering specification.
Research and specify materials to be used on products.
Create costing documentation
Interact with Design and Engineering to ensure bill of materials are accurate and up to date.
Review and audit BOM's to ensure they reflect the latest manufacturing practices.
Analyze actual labor, material and cost against costing and labor reports.
Research and explain variances. Report this information as needed.
Able to handle tight deadlines with ease, a self-starter and excellent communicator
High level of proficiency using, spreadsheets, including MS Excel and able to learn new software as needed.
Assist with the engineering of product.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILL REQUIREMENTS :
The ideal candidate must have an associate degree and 1-2 years' experience or the equivalent combination.
Must have excellent oral, written and mathematical skills.
Must be computer literate in the Microsoft software environment, and proficient in AutoCAD.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS :
Must be able to work in an office environment with other team members.
In the production environment this individual is exposed to moderate noise, dust, and chemicals.
Must be able to sit at a desk up to 8 hours per day.
Must be able to occasionally stand and walk to interact with team in both the office and manufacturing environment and occasionally required to reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Must be able to use hands and fingers for daily work on computer and department tasks.
Must be able to use vision to review department work, including close vision on a computer screen.
Must be able to communicate by using and hearing a telephone.
