Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Electrical/Mechanical Service Technician to join our team. This position is a mix of field and in-house responsibilities, where you will provide exceptional service and technical support to customers in a variety of industries. As a self-starter with a focus on customer satisfaction, you will help maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial equipment while promoting product and service upgrades to maximize customer retention and sales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Field Service & Support: Provide on-site technical support during scheduled field visits, including diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and conducting maintenance on industrial equipment (including RTOs and related machinery).
- Customer Interaction: Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, providing training on equipment as needed and comprehending customer needs to offer effective solutions.
- Technical Expertise: Troubleshoot, repair, and test industrial machinery and equipment, providing guidance and recommendations for upgrades and part replacements.
- Sales & Recommendations: Promote and sell spare parts kits, service contracts, and upgrades for existing equipment. Identify additional service opportunities and provide briefings on potential upgrades.
- Remote Support: Provide technical phone support and assist with 24-hour service hotline queries.
- Documentation & Reporting: Create accurate, detailed service reports and complete all required paperwork, including customer reports, expense reports, and timecards, in a timely manner.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all company safety procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for both yourself and the customer.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to share information and ensure smooth operations across the organization.
- Travel Requirements: Travel domestically and internationally as required for field service visits, working with flexibility to accommodate varying schedules and locations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum of an associate degree in Electrical or Mechanical Technology, or a related field and/or minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience servicing industrial equipment is preferred.
- Equivalent industrial equipment servicing experience may be considered in place of formal education.
- Knowledge of industrial electromechanical systems, PLC programming, HMI’s, and VFD drives.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with electricity, pneumatics, airflows, gas flow, and electronics.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, testing, repairing, and servicing industrial equipment.
- Knowledge of dryer equipment, particularly in the printing industry, is a plus.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), mobile tools, and applications.
- Excellent communication and customer relations skills, with the ability to provide clear technical explanations to customers.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, on ladders, from lifts, and in various physical positions (kneeling, crouching, standing).
- Able to work under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Ability to handle flexible work hours and travel requirements.
- Must be organized and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

Pay: $25.00 - $38.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
