IT Support Engineer/ Blue Belt Tech Ninja

You can neither confirm nor deny ghostwriting the best-seller "Microsoft 365 for Dummies: Cliff Notes, Abridged". Your response to a problem none of your friends can solve is immediately, "Hold my Hot Pocket and Mountain Dew". You are comfortable working directly with CEO's, Presidents, Office Managers, Office Administrators, and end-users of small to medium-sized businesses. Most importantly, you understand technology isn't always easy for everyone and have a genuine desire to help people make their use of technology more enjoyable.

The Position:

Argyle IT is looking for a mid-level IT Engineer to assist with our ever-growing customer base. Applicant must have a working knowledge of the skills listed below and, more importantly, must have experience working directly with small and medium-sized businesses in a variety of industries. An ability to translate tech talk into plain English while remaining calm, cool, and collected in stressful situations and providing clients prompt attention/service are skills that are as important as technical aptitude. We're looking for an IT Professional that is serious about their career and is ready to enhance their skill set through challenging projects, additional certifications, and training.

This position works out of our Perrysburg, OH office and is Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, but could occasionally require late evening and weekend work per client needs.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

  • IT support relating to technical issues involving Microsoft's core business applications
  • Supports Microsoft 365, Azure, and mobile devices such as the iPhone, iPad, and Androids
  • Support disaster recovery solutions including high availability and fault-tolerant solutions
  • Performs troubleshooting at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, wireless deployments, firewalls, and security
  • Performs desktop, laptop, and server system deployments including hardware and software configurations
  • Provides daily written updates on the status of current tickets, open issues, and projects
  • Resolve client network, server, and desktop alerts from our remote network monitoring and management system
  • Performs troubleshooting of supported desktop and server operating systems and applications
  • Interacts with vendors to facilitate repairs of hardware
  • Documents system problems and resolution for future reference
  • Maintains confidentiality of company information
  • Communicate with clients and keep them informed of your progress
  • Regional travel required
  • Ability to safely lift 75lbs.

Knowledge, Skills And/or Abilities Required:

Basic (Required)

  • Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and work history
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on support experience with desktop support technologies including Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2012/2016/2019/2022, MacOS, iPhone, iPad, Microsoft desktop applications, exposure to LAN and WAN networking technologies
  • Professional IT Certifications, such as: CompTIA ITF , CompTIA A
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, effective active listening skills, professional appearance, punctuality and a sense of urgency
  • Must be detail-oriented, a team player, and have the ability to work on multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to effectively handle tasks with competing priorities and adapt to changes quickly
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment

Preferred (Highly Desired)

  • Professional IT Certifications, such as: CompTIA Network , CompTIA Security , MCITP
