Position Overview
The Estate Caretaker plays a vital role in preserving the beauty and functionality of our private estate. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks focused on maintaining the built environment, including homes, pools, walkways, and various outbuildings. This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a commitment to quality and a willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Pool and Spa Maintenance: Ensure proper chemical balance and cleanliness of the in-ground pool and hot tub.
- Outdoor Living Space Care: Maintain poolside furniture, outdoor kitchens, grills, and pavilion furniture. Duties include cleaning, covering/uncovering furniture, and managing furniture covers.
- Property Maintenance: Oversee the care of other outdoor cooking areas, wash, fuel, and detail utility vehicles, manage trash and recycling removal, and assist with deliveries.
- Groundskeeping: Maintain pool decks, walkways, and other hardscapes. Oversee the proper functioning of outdoor water features.
- Light Maintenance: Change light bulbs, filters, and clean outdoor lighting fixtures.
- Vendor Management: Provide occasional oversight of contractors performing maintenance on the property.
- Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned, which may include service-related duties.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in property maintenance or a related field is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a “can-do” approach.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks including bending, lifting (up to 70 lbs), kneeling, twisting, walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods.
