Job Summary:
As a Per Diem Nurse Practitioner (NP) at ARI Hospice, you will provide high-quality medical care to hospice patients, focusing on symptom management, pain control, and overall comfort. You will work closely with the interdisciplinary care team, including physicians, nurses, social workers, and chaplains, to ensure comprehensive and compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine needs, goals, and appropriate interventions.
- Manage pain and symptoms related to terminal illness, providing relief and improving quality of life.
- Collaborate with the hospice care team to develop and implement care plans for each patient.
- Provide ongoing medical management and adjust care plans based on patient progress.
- Educate patients and families about end-of-life care, symptom management, and coping strategies.
- Communicate regularly with physicians and other team members regarding patient status and updates.
- Document all patient interactions and care plans in compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in Nevada.
- Certification in Hospice and Palliative Care (preferred).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in hospice, palliative care, or related field (preferred).
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to manage complex symptomatology.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field setting.
- Valid Nevada driver’s license and reliable transportation for home visits.
- Must be able to pass a federal and state background check under NRS 449.
