Duties & Responsibilities
- Support genset test plan development.
- Lead genset testing for various new product development programs.
- Coordinate technician and mechanic activities supporting testing.
- In this role the candidate will participate in test planning meetings, manage set up of test equipment, execute tests, collect data, communicate results, and manage equipment and test teardown.
- Certain tests will require troubleshooting to ensure complete installation, accurate data collection, and innovation to develop custom test configurations.
- Manage and maintain equipment and calibration status.
- The position will collaborate with design engineering and facility technicians to define and execute successful genset tests as well as coordinate test cell readiness.
- The position will provide specific details to engineering to help with resolution of problems with the test and product.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
- 0-2 years experience in electrical engineering / technology
- Knowledge of safe work and test practices
- Knowledge of generator set electrical components like alternators, controls, circuit breakers, transformers and test measurement systems like national instruments
- Experience with relevant computer applications like Microsoft Office
- Experience with various test equipment like multimeters, soldering/harnessing, strain gauges, accelerometers, thermocouples, pressure transducers, proximity probes, telemetry, DAQ systems, hand tools
- Experience working in a lab / testing environment
- Operational and/or test knowledge of generator set and/or engines
- Strong electrical and mechanical background
- Experience working on a team
