About the RoleThe Sr. Technical Designer is responsible for the on-time development of denim and non-denim bottoms, ensuring products meet company standards for aesthetic, fit, and quality. Work with the Design, Product Development, and Technical Design teams, whose responsibilities include managing the successful launch of all new products. This position includes responsibilities ranging from technical design and fit management to building products that meet company gross margin objectives and achieving deliverables during the go-to-market cycle.You'll Make a Difference ByChampioning product excellence in fit and quality while building and maintaining a best-in-class fit portfolio, including researching competitive products, creating patterns for new fits, and crafting new construction techniquesCreating product specifications, graded measurements, and detailed technical sketchesBeing responsible for ensuring fit consistency and monitoring factory utilization of blocksManaging the commercialization process by tracking samples, scheduling fittings, reviewing, and measuring samples for workmanship, construction, fit, and production feasibility, and communicating with cross-functional teams and factoriesLeading fit sessions and communicating fit corrections and pattern changes with factories from prototype through productionMonitoring and managing product development timelines to meet the department's goalsMaintaining the accuracy of product specs and fit comments throughout the pre-production processStriving for continual improvement that drives product and process enhancementsMentoring and communicating processes, procedures, and technical skills to the Tech Design AssistantCollaborating with business partners to gain clear direction and consensus of fit intentFostering open communication and team environment with all business partnersPerforming other duties as assignedAbout You15 years of experience in denim and non-denim adult bottoms in technical Design / Product DevelopmentMastery in fit and patternmaking : in-depth knowledge of denim construction manufacturing methods and gradingExpertise in understanding physical fit; evaluation of body size, shape, and the relationship of clothing on the target bodyAble to proactively troubleshoot and utilize strong analytical and problem-solving skillsDemonstrate a solid knowledge of manufacturing processes and product development lifecycleDrive for continual improvement and innovation; sponsor newnessProven track record for cultivating strong relationships with key stakeholders, resulting in high customer satisfactionSelf-motivated and can work in a fast-paced, result-oriented team environmentExceptional written, oral, and face-to-face communication skillsDetail-oriented with outstanding follow-throughAbility to prioritize work, handle multiple tasks, and work independently under supervisionFast acting and capable of adapting quickly to changeProficient use of Adobe Illustrator, MS Office, Word, and Excel; Knowledge of PLM and patternmaking systems (Accumark) is a plusBA or BS preferredAbout AriatAriat is an innovative, outdoor global brand with roots in equestrian performance.
