QA Analysts & QC Testers (Security, Non-Functional) NYCG007

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented QA Analyst & QC Tester (Security, Non-Functional) with 8 years of experience in Microsoft Test Manager, Microsoft Coded UI, or equivalent testing suites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, constructing, and executing a variety of automated and manual test cases—focusing particularly on non-functional testing such as load, volume, penetration, and network testing—to ensure that software applications meet security, performance, and functional standards.

The role requires a strong understanding of organizational systems and technology architecture, along with a proactive approach to identifying potential vulnerabilities and performance risks.

 
RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases based on business and functional requirements.
• Conduct manual and automated testing using tools such as Microsoft Test Manager, Microsoft Coded UI, or other industry-standard platforms.
• Plan and execute non-functional tests including load testing, volume testing, performance testing, penetration testing, and network testing.
• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and security teams to understand system architecture and identify risk areas.
• Conduct thorough security testing to identify vulnerabilities, unauthorized access points, and compliance issues.
• Analyze test results, log and track defects, and assist in debugging and root cause analysis.
• Validate system reliability, responsiveness, and stability under stress or peak usage conditions.
• Ensure that test coverage adequately addresses all functional, security, and performance acceptance criteria.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum activities including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Document test strategies, results, defect reports, and other QA documentation for auditing and compliance.

 
MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Note: Candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 8 years of QA/QC testing experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in:
  • Microsoft Test Manager and Microsoft Coded UI, or equivalent testing tools
  • Manual and automated testing for both functional and non-functional requirements
  • Performance, load, stress, and volume testing
  • Penetration and security testing
• Solid experience in developing test plans, test strategies, test cases, and test scripts.
• Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC), testing life cycle (STLC), and QA methodologies.
• Familiarity with network protocols, firewalls, and system architecture to support network and security testing.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

 
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Experience with other security and performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, LoadRunner).
• Knowledge of compliance standards (e.g., OWASP Top 10, NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR).
• Familiarity with DevOps pipelines, CI/CD processes, and cloud environments (Azure, AWS).
• ISTQB or Security Testing Certification is a plus.
• Experience working in large-scale public sector or education environments, especially NYC DOE
