Director – Capital Services
We are currently seeking a Director for our Capital Services Division. The primary function of the Director role is to structure and execute financing solutions for our institutional and private clients while also maintaining their own pipeline of current and new relationships. This person will have direct and frequent contact with the Investment Sales and Investment Research Divisions and senior management.
The person chosen for this role must be extremely detail oriented with an analytical mindset, possess a proven ability to succeed within a sales environment, and have the capacity to stay calm under fire while maintaining a positive, can-do attitude.
Responsibilities:
This position will be responsible for building a book of business through telesales, individual meetings and partnering with Ariel Investment Sales brokers to close business. The role will focus on facilitating and assisting in the management of direct lead generation through the entire loan cycle. Specific training, goals setting, mentoring and ongoing support will be established to maximize growth leading to success.
Responsibilities and engagement of the position includes:
- Source and close new business through telesales, networking, and conducting local meetings
- Demonstrate success in winning new business by partnering with Ariel Investment Sales brokers to capitalize on their experience and relationships to add credibility to Ariel’s presentation
- Manage and track all leads for progress
- Develop client relationships for future business
- Function as the point person on specific deals
- Review sizing workbooks to develop stronger understanding of deal sizing
- Expand knowledge of all product lines
- Exhibit sophistication in analyzing and entering data from cash flow statements, rent rolls, and borrower financial statements in order to determine a project’s ability to qualify for financing
- Project manage deal submissions and timelines through the various stages of the loan process from Screening through Closing while regularly engaging and interacting with the borrow to foster relationships
- Engage in networking activities and actively participate in local leadership initiatives to strengthen community relationships
Qualifications:
- 3 years of work experience in either sales or service-oriented businesses
- Record of sales success
- Bachelor’s Degree required, preferred concentration in Real Estate, Economics, Finance, Marketing or other business-related fields
- Strong listening, speaking, writing and presentation skills
- Disciplined, focused and team oriented
- Entrepreneurial spirit, self-starter
- Eagerness and temperament to participate in a fast paced/high volume work environment
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word; willing to learn new software as needed
Preferred:
- Experience in Commercial Real Estate
- Experience in mortgage brokerage/lending
- NYS Real Estate License
