What You’ll Do
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Colorist with 4 years of experience to join our passionate color team. In this role, you will review color submissions, provide accurate feedback, and track the approval status of all base fabrics, garment components, and aesthetic/production garments across all styles. The colorist will ensure that all components align with the base fabric and that garments coordinate each season. The colorist will attend color status meetings and communicate effectively with the Production and Merchandising departments. Additionally, you will collaborate with our Hong Kong Color team, material suppliers, and garment factories to resolve color-related issues. Specific responsibilities include the following:
- Receive, review and comment on all color submits from mills/factories
- Maintain daily Excel tracking charts and provide status updates
- Proactively discuss with manager any submit color issues in need of escalation
- Collaborate with the Hong Kong team, Design, and Merchandising teams on color concerns
- Maintain fabric and trim reference cards
- Assist in monitoring mills color scorecard
- Organize and file all approved and rejected references efficiently
What You’ll Bring
- Superior color vision on Farnsworth Munsell 100 Hue Test
- Experience in mass or department store color approval (licensed or private label)
- 4 years as a colorist in the apparel industry (intimate apparel preferred)
- Previous experience with Wal-Mart private label color approval is a plus
- Knowledge of the Spectrophotometer preferred
- Excellent organizational skills (emails, charts, filing, prioritization)
- Proficient in Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Detail oriented and good follow-up abilities
